A corner reflector does not create light. It does not embellish it or redirect it for effect. It receives light from any direction and returns it faithfully, focused, and parallel to its source.
I have come to value this idea through observation rather than theory.
There are moments when absorbing light as something to keep feels tempting, and others when scattering it for effect feels easier. Neither has held my attention for long. What endures is the quieter act of reflecting what is given with clarity and integrity.
A corner reflector is formed by intersecting planes. Experience, effort, failure, and sustained attention shape us in much the same way. Over time, I have noticed that when these elements begin to align, what I reflect back into the world becomes more coherent than what I received.
I seek to remain oriented, receive what comes, and return faithfully the gifts I’ve been given.
