An early step by step book focused on introductory CNC programming.
About the Book
In the late 1970s through the early 1990s, CNC machining was coming into its own. At the time, computer-aided manufacturing systems were expensive and often out of reach for smaller shops and independent machinists. Yet the pressure to keep increasingly costly NC and CNC machines productive was very real.
There was a growing need for practical knowledge—how to understand the language, syntax, and logic of CNC programming, without relying on specialists or investing in early, complex CAD/CAM systems.
This book was written to fill that gap. It focused on step-by-step fundamentals, giving owner-operators and machinists the tools to program, troubleshoot, and operate CNC equipment competently during a period of rapid automation and technological change.
